hey guys anyone have a part # or the name of what this bolt is called?
its the long bolts that hold the caliper onto the bracket
i had one strip off while trying to take the calipers off, its just about rounded now :(
so if anyone has a oem # or the name of this bolt so i can get a replacement, or a link to where i can order new ones this is for the FRONT on a fwd turbo tsi. also any ideas as to how i can get this stripped bolt out? :p anyhelp would be appreciated guys

It sounds like you're talking about the caliper guide pins. According to CAPS, the numbers should be MB618228 (top) and MB618227 (bottom).

It sounds a caliper slider bolt. You say you stripped one off, it should just come out after that. ou may want to run a tap through the holes after you get the bolt out to clean them up and get ride of any metal fileings

thats the one!

its the bottom one, its stripped where you put the wrench on it :(
going to be a bi*** to get off, i am out of ideas...

welp that was no suprise LOL, every time i get the vise grips on there good and turn it just tears up the metal even more, tried grinding it down to 4 squares now those are just about rounded LOL, any other ideas?

Put a old extension on the face of the bolt and hit the extension with a hammer a couple of times to jar it loose then put your vise grips on it and get it screw it out.

PB AKA penetration blaster works wonders most of the time.

yeah i have already ordered a new one, i took the one side out, then pushed the caliper down wards until it wasnt hitting the brake pads, then i pushed it out without having to unscrew the other one, now im working on getting it off the caliper :p
