if any of you have pictures of how yours is that would help any info would help thanks

i have a 91 eagle talon tsi awd

The MBC just goes from a pressure source (J Pipe or compressor housing nipple preferred) to the wastegate nipple. VERY simple. If you have the bleeder type, the one with the tee then it's a little different to setup and IMO the bleeder style is crap. The BCS is completely removed along with it's vacuum lines.

This is my setup. (ball and spring)

the 3rd wire looks like it goes to the maf? i have ball and spring. i dont have a house coiming out of the housing the two hoses that im trying to use is the one from the waste gate and the one in the top left of the 2nd picture but this is the thing in the first picture you can see where they both come together but then theres that 3rd wire there that looks like it goes to a connecter and from there to the plug that plugs into the maf thats where im stuck and think im doing it wrong

Damn that's a long run-on sentence! Use punctuation if you want to be understood.

Disconnect the vacuum lines and just run it like I posted. The wire you are referring to is most likely for the stock BCS which has vacuum lines running to it. Just remove them. This isn't rocket science nor complicated.

mines not straight this is what i have... knob>>>>>v>>>>connector

connector

ok so i did what you told me to do and this is how it is <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/50529416@N08/5575527454/" title="IMG00105-20110330-1835.jpg by letsgetwasted, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5292/5575527454_7f9ca24c8c.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="IMG00105-20110330-1835.jpg"></a>

do i have the mbc hooked up right? one side is in the waste gate the other is connected to the wire comming of the J pipe?

Looks right to me. Be sure to be careful when first taking it out for a drive. For you have no idea what kind of boost you will be pushing.

i know i got a gauge to that i have to hook up but need to get a house and if i tap the gauge should the needle move and its also not at zero would there be a way to fix that

Huh? Let me get this straight, are you installing/running a manual boost controller without a boost gauge installed? If you do not have one installed, this is a big no no.

i have one its just not installed yet. and no i am not running the car.

but should the boost gauge arrow move when tapped? and its also not at zero

can this be used?

on the boost gauge that i bought off of some one is reading about 3. when i tap the boost gauge the arrow moves up and down. the boost gauge is not hooked up to anything.

Hook it up. Start your car, See where it goes. Rev your engine, See where it goes. Do not drive with that MBC in. Shut of car, See where it sits.

Easiest thing yo can do to figure out the answer to your problem, would be to just hook it up and see what it reads. It will take less than a minute to hook up. Then, observe your readings. You'll know if it is working correctly from the readings you recieve. It should read somewhere between 17-20 vaccum.

thats good to know but there is no vacuum its just a straight boost gauge

and with the mbc if i just keep it all the way screwed out shouldnt i be fine?

besides the vacuum line i need to get a T right?

all boost gauges have vac

well mine dosent heres a pic

I think he is talking about the factory boost gauge on the dash inside the car . NOT the aftermarket one has HASN'T installed yet . Correct me if im wrong , im trying to help but i dont understand where this is going .

thats the gauge i am talking about. and when i tap the gauge with my finger the red/orange needle jumps a little

Is that gauge mechanical, or electronic?

You should get a another boost guage, one that shows vacuum. You can use that guage to set your MBC, but I don't know why you wouldn't want a guage that shows vac, if you're gonna bother having the stupid pillar pod.

As far as testing the guage goes, connect it to a compressor that has a known good regulator, and see what it says. If you're gonna run a boosted DSM, you're gonna need a boost-leak tester. SO, search that, and build one. Then hook it up to your engine. Connect the guage to your FPR hose or somewhere else convenient, and see if it says the samething the regulator says on the compressor.

Also, quit calling hoses wires. You're confusing everyone.

mechanical? is that bad and whats the difference? i got the boostgauge mbc and a/f gauge all together for 50.

this gauge is temporary for now i guess, and what do you mean by stupid piller pod?

and one last thing where could i find a compressor to use?

That gauge will work to set your MBC to whatever boost you plan on running , but if i were you i would get a different autometer gauge that reads vacuum so you can tell if your car has any boost / vacuum leaks . I personally dont like that boost gauge but if you plan on hooking up to your car make sure the gauge is reading 0 before you set your MBC .
