MBC Issues

So last night I installed a Hallman mbc. I used <a href=http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/237982-best-way-install-mbc.html>this</a> to direct me. The system boosts fine and the car seems to drive smoothly if not better, even at stock boost (12psi). I can adjust the boost by twisting the knob. My issue is, I now have a CEL and I haven't had time to go out and get it read. It also idles at 1500rpm when it use to idle @ 800rpm. WTF If somebody could steer me in a better direction that'd be great. Also I did a boost leak test (no leaks) Everything is stock except a 1g bov and intake pipe and filter.

AutoZone's reader says turbocharger wastegate solenoid electrical issue. I think unplugging the original solenoid is the issue. Is there a way to do a delete? If I clear the cel it doesn't come back for a while. But I don't want to keep doing that every couple hours obviously. Sorry the weird link...

On the 2g if you disconnect the stock waste gate solenoid, it will throw a cel. Just plug it in and don't run any hoses to it, that's all

You can leave the hoses unhooked from the solenoid, but If you unplug it, you get a cel.

Alright I'll plug my old solenoid in today when I get home. I got the CEL checked and cleared. It didn't back on until this morning. So I'll put the old solenoid back in and clear my CEL and get back with you guys! Thanks!

So I put the old solenoid back in w/o the hoses. That seems to have fixed it! Thanks!

The only way to avoid the CEL's on a 2g is to use DSM link. Unless its a 98-99, I think you can flash those ecus.

I'd have to look again, but I think the boost control one is by the air filter. There are a couple on the firewall though.

Stock BCS is underneath the air filter, it can be used for gear based boost control in DSM/ECM Link later down the road with a couple of other pieces.

Did reseting and plugging in the Solenoid fix your idle ?

This solenoid was beneath the air filter. Plugging it back in and clearing the CEL has resolved the CEL and high idle. I have a 1996, I want to get dsm link for her... After an exhaust...anyway thanks guys
