Just finished my new 7 bolt build (all my mods are listed in my profile). I am currently on my break in period for the fresh build, somewhere around 150-200 miles. Right now I am struggling with heat issues. I know the oil temp will follow the coolant temp so to speak but I am having issues with both the coolant and oil getting too hot for my liking. Coolant temp will be somewhere around 229-230 when I'm just cruising and oil temp will get up to 240-250 or so but oil pressure will remain good at 10+ psi even when 250 degrees. I started out with conventional single grade sae30 oil and then switched to sae40w and now back to sae30 just in an effort to try reduce friction on the system with a heavier oil but realistically I would like to run 40w oil to help better protect my bearings for the clearances I set the motor with. I am running a mishimoto radiator with 2x 11" spal pusher fans as there is no room for puller fans with the t3 twin scroll holset hx35 and manifold. AC is deleted. I have also switched to 30% coolant/70% water ratio instead of 50/50 just to try to combat coolant heat and it helped but not enough. I was told to try the mishimoto x-line triple core radiator which I just ordered and I will also try to go up to 2x 12" spal pusher fans just to move more air flow. Currently running a 1g thermostat housing set up in a 2g with a gates 180 degree thermostat. Outside of the new radiator and new fans, I am at a loss on how to combat the excess heat in the engine bay. Thoughts on switching to a vented hood from the oem hood just to allow the heat to escape so the engine bay doesnt get heat soaked. Exhaust gas temps will hang out at 750F-850F when I am running it and when it is also 95 degrees outside. IAT temp will linger around 115-120 when I am just sitting at idle. Any thoughts, information, and advice would be greatly appreciated.
