I put on a Fluidampr Harmonic Damper today and before i put it on i spun the crank (six times) by hand and made sure all my timing marks where on and they where. So i put the #1 cylinder to TDC and lined the crank pulley up with the timing marks on the crank sprocket. I put everything back together and started it up, ran fine and every thing sounded like it did before i put the pulley on. Then i shut the car off and then started it up again, now it idles up to 2k and drops back down, then repeats itself. Also my alternator is going. what would make it idle like that? is the timing off? even though when i started it up all was fine, no sounds. The engine is fully built. I'm just not sure why it is idling like that after i started it back up?
