is it possible to have power to turn the engine over but not enough to get spark?
i relocated the battery to the trunk and now the car will just crank, but not fire.i can smell fuel after cranking and used a spark tester and didn't see anything.only other thing i did was remove some of the vacuum lines.
my thought was maybe it's not grounded good enough.

any suggestions?

ok,so after doing some more searching and reading i came across something about a coolant temp sensor..so i searched for that and did some more reading..
i had a broken wire there and the coolant was low.now i can get it to start but it sounds like it's running on 2 cylinders....now i'm at a loss for this issue

Check and see if you accidentally unplugged, tore, whatever any of your wire harness' because working especially ON your battery and cables could cause any of the Bakelite to break, or spliced-in wires to come out and go easily un-noticed. I had it happen before, and its usually due to being corroded with age.

i keep going over the wires to see if i missed something or forgot to plug something in,and haven't found anything

Just throwing this out there, but its possible you may have shorted something on your transition from your engine bay to trunk... highly unlikely since you didn't say you saw any arc of any sorts.

-Is your CEL on?
-Does the wire that you said was broken look like it broke because of age or abuse?
-Have you checked your cylinders to see which (if at all) are not firing?
