Alright well i need some serious serious thoughts here. This will be the deciding factor in my new track setup. Currently running an FP3065 im dominating on the road course...its a bad ass turbo to play with but honestly my temps have seen better days and its time to start brainstorming a new setup now that the summer months have run in and i have the time to tear into the car. My biggest problem in temps is my rediculously large FMIC and decided i was going to go with a smaller precision FMIC core but then i said...hmm lets just eliminate a FMIC entirely and use all that space for an oil cooler and some nice ducting :D

So my question is if i were to run a supra sidemount...what would be the biggest turbo i can run before maxing it out. I probably will be doing 91 pump, i was hoping to use an fp green but i know that would be too large for that so im thinking maybe a 20g?...i dont wanna go as small as a 16g :nono: if i have to then ill just get the smaller fmic and make some badass ducting that way...either way stay tuned b/c a bad ass track 2g is on its way this fall :D Maybe ill have to find a company that will weld me a big enough side mount to run an fp green :sneaky:

I can't think of why you couldn't use a green on the supra SMIC. They flow quite well. You'd probably max out the core before the turbo though. What kind of airflow are you intending on?

Im not sure yet but im just thinking an fp green on e85 with 272s and full supporting mods would be flowing quite a bit, especially since im going for fastest spool meaning probably a pretty high amount of boost LOL

If you run e85, you could probably run your current turbo. I have run high boost on small intercoolers on several cars. If you tune a lot richer than usual for e85 it will cool the air almost like meth.

Another thought. Running e85 with your current setup could make it run cooler all by itself.

As long as it is run within its efficiency range the Supra SMIC should handle even relatively large turbos. I'm on my out of the efficiency range on my 16g and I'm still seeing decent intake temperatures at the manifold. Remember that a larger turbo in its efficiency range will produce less heat than a smaller turbo outside of it when flowing the same amount of air. As mentioned e85 will help quite a bit. The extra amount of fuel leads to a reduction both in charge temperature and in engine operating temperature. My car has been running hot lately because my water pump is on its way out but switching to e85 netted a drop of about 4*F in ECT.

Ran one on my SCM61 for over a year, and the previous owner did the same for 2 years...good enough for 11s. Repeated pulls would soak it, so I'm not sure how well it would fare on the road courses.

I would keep the FP3065 on it but im going to throw it on my 1g and see how far i can push it in the 1/4 :hellyeah:

I decided im gonna go with the supra smic, if i can find a nice mitsuflange 20g, im gonna put it on there and then see how fast we can get this puppy to spool and how nice of a power range i can have. I would like to do e-85 eventually but im gonna keep my fic 750s on there for now just to get everything rolling. stay posted :thumb:
