I can pick up a low mile one for 200.00, I understand I have to get a different header, I found one that puts the evo type turbo on our dsm, but anyways what's the pros over this turbo vs a e316g

I have a TD05HR-16G6-9.8T on my 1g car! Currently its a work in progress! I changed the set up to a forward facing manifold! If you want to see some pics of my car check out my facebook! There was a lot of customizing to do a evo 16g install! This is not a bolt on turbo application like a evo 3 16g! Here is a link to the compressor flow rate of a TD05HR-16G6-9.8T! Mitsubishi OEM turbo specifications (including flow rates) - evolutionm.net

Ryan Jenk's just went 10.1 at 131 with his stock turbo evo! I think he maid like 425hp! Hope this info helps!

Correct me if I'm wrong but looking at that chart and having done research of my own, there isn't much of a difference. You may go to a local library and find the "4G63 Engines" book that is paper back that was written partially from one of the guys at RRE. The only difference between the two is that the fans on the Evo 8 16G are reverse due to the configuration of the head. Best bet, rock the E-III 16G or go all out and swap a 4G64 in there from a 3G and then swap an Evo head... but I don't think that's ever been done - tempted to see if it has, might have to do some research on that one. :thumb:

Turbo Manifold - 2G DSM- Evo 8/9 Twin Scroll - Revshift | STORE - (Powered by CubeCart)

this was my plan i understand that is spools faster and holds more boost

What kind of budget you looking at? If you are prepared to spend $200 for the turbo and $700 on a manifold i would rather see you spend a little bit extra get a FP manifold for $195 and a FP 68HTA for $925! Both are on sale right now and you get a free FPGSS342 Fuel Pump witch is a $69 value! I have this same setup waiting to go on my car that is why i am suggesting it!

I dont know why you would do a full swap like the one you explained you can put a Evo 8 16g on a 90-98 4g63! The turbos are a little different Evo 8 16g has a much larger exhaust housings 9.5cm and 10.5cm compared to Evo 3 16g. Also here is a link to compare both flow charts!
