Master clutch and slave

i need to replace both of them on my car! When looking around i got alot of different prices on them. The cheapest price i got was from auto value. Dose anyone have experience for these jobber parts or should i just get oem.

Have you tried looking on ebay? Ebay sometimes has good prices on some pretty good brand name parts.

I have a quick question about the clutch master and slave cylinders. How does one know when they have to be replaced? I remember having the mechanic replace them on my RS but that was because the clutch fluid was leaking. Is there any other reasons?

When the slave cylinder went out on my car the clutch would not engage. What is your car doing?

the clutch is engaging just about when it hits the floor. I barely have any pressure in it. Or any pressure during shifting.

Have you tried to adjust it any? Are you low on clutch fluid? You probaly have a bad slave cylinder on your car.

The clutch fluid is good. How would i go about adjusting it? talking about "it" are we talking about the clutch? Would bleeding the clutch help any?

I bought my master and slave at Autozone, mainly because they were the cheapest..so far no problems

Yes try to bleed the clutch. I am thinking it has to be a bad slave cylinder.

when i drive around for a while the car becomes harder to shift, and wont go into gear unless i press the pedal alot. I think it's just the master clutch which needs to be changed because when i first start it up it shifts fine.

Yea, I had that problem in my RS. I took it to the mechanic and he said it was the master and he replaced the slave also just because it would go bad in the future. Did you check your clutch fluid? Mine did that when it had no more fluid and ihad to keep refilling it.

no mine isn't leaking anywhere. I think i bleed it already. This problem only started to happen this year!
