Map Sensor With No Emissions?

I have read that in a 2g you can unplug the vacuum hoses from all of these, but you have to leave them plugged into the car so you don't start throwing codes.

I have the same question and I didn't want to start a new thread. I also did the 6 bolt swap on my 2G with EGR block off and the 1G intake manifold has no place for the MDP (MAP) sensor since it uses a temp sensor to check the EGR system. Do I need to buy the MAP sensor adapter or can I just leave the sensor hanging there without being connected to the intake mani? I don't see why I would need it hooked up if the EGR system is blocked off.

Thanks.

The MAP sensor is just for emissions stuff.

The only problem you will have from removing it is a P1400 CEL code.
And the Purge system may not operate correctly.

Will it throw the code if I leave it plugged into the harness but not the intake mani or does it only throw the code if the wiring is disconnected?

Thanks.

The ECU uses the MDP/MAP sensor to check if the EGR sysyem is working. If you unplug the sensor, the ECU gives you one error for the sensor being out of range, and another error code for the EGR being non-functional. The best thing to do is reflash the ECU to turn off the MDP and EGR stuff, so you don't get an MIL.
That is how several of the engine sensors/solenoids work, you get one error code for the device being missing, and then you get another one because the system it supported is out of wack. Unless you have a way to turn off the emissions checks you will get MIL's for any missing devices. The FPR, EVAP/Purge, and Wastegate solenoids only throw one MIL each, for the solenoid coil itself being disconnected, so those systems can be eliminated without an MIL as long as you leave the solenoids plugged into the harness.
