manual or power windows?

I'm swapping shells right now and I can't decide if I want to keep power windows or switdh to manual. I've got a donor car with the same color doors so I would just have to swap the doors. I don't care about weight just convenince, I wouldn't have to worry about windows sticking, motor going out etc.. But I can't make up my mind. Whats your opinion?

Word. I have roll-up-your-own-windows and would never give them up. One less thing to break. Not like these are luxury cars or anything

Not true, wouldn't say no. In my Laser the cables were totally snapped somehow...

Go with manual, less weight

I'm struggling with that myself. I don't mind losing power locks, but power windows..imagine you're driving down the interstate and it starts to pour down rain. Options are lean over to roll your passenger window up and crash and die, pull over to the shoulder to roll it up, or just hit the switch.

I'll stick with my power windows any day. The added convenience is well worth the trouble of possibly having to change the motor once in awhile. It's not like it's that hard to do and they don't go bad that often anyway.

I converted my old RS to Power windows back in the day. It just seemed so nice to not have to work for the window to roll down. Its cool either way, less weight or easy of rolling down your window.

The other reason I'm leaning towards the manual windows is the door panels and trim on the outside of manual doors is in a lot better shape then on the auto doors.

The auto window set up is not that much heavier. Manual window systems break too. The only people that need them is rally cross for times you flip and lose elec. power.

Your car is freakin tiny as hell to start with and why the hell are you not running with the passenger window up if it may possibly start raining?

That's because you live in oregon where it rains 300 days a year

I guess your weather forecast is 100% accurate all the time, or you have super long arms and can somehow see and reach the passenger door without taking your focus off the road in front of you. Kudos, good sir, I must be an idiot!
