Hi

Im looking to buy a new manifold for my 92 Laser RS Turbo (because mine is cracked), and I was really interested in the EVO III manifold.
But the thing is that I as looking today online and found the FP DSM Race Manifold, and it looks really good.

So here is the deal.... Whitch one is better, teh EVO III or the FP DSM Race Manifold? Whitch one will give my dsm a few more HP?
Or are they both the same? (size)

Thanks. :D

What are your goals? If you're just looking for a new replacement, evo III or even a 2g will be fine. IF money is no object, I'm sure the FP race will be better flowing, but it also looks like you can't run a head shield on it (I don't have any 1sthand experience with it). If that's the case, then you might have some heating issues common to "race" manifolds. If its just a street driven DD, I'd say the Evo is the better choice.

EVOIII it's a direct bolt up all the bolts and other related parts can be picked up a your local:dsm: dealer. Only one thing has to be done to fit, the right corner of the flange has to be ground down just a bit to fit.

Some of the venders will do it for you if you tell them what it's going on. I know R.R.E. does it :thumb:

if you want to go with the FP manifold the only difference between that and an evo3 bolting it up is instead of 4 turbo bolts it will use 2 and then 2 shorter o2 sensor housing bolts. and if i remember right jmfabrications make a heat shield for the FP manifold.

Evo 3.If you shop around you can probably pick up a used one under $100 shipped.I bought one years ago for $50.

I went with DN performance. I wasn't to into it but when I recieved it in the store and looked it over. It was a great work of art. The machining and welds on it are excellent. Price wasn't to bad but overall great product. Im looking for a lotta horse power but if your just wanting something to have. go with the evo. I can take heat, thats 4-sure. But in my opinon, if your going buy, why not buy once and for all. You might want to upgrade later. But my vote is with my DN performance mani. Tubular, equal length, and a 38mm flange (ex/wastegate)

I was talking to a DSM mechanic here and Im going with the FP racing manifold... last go big.

thanks for the help guys.

I would have to see dyno results proving that the FP race manifold is better than a ported 2G for me to spend the money. I have a few freinds who bought the DNP manifolds and I don't care for them too much either. I would have to say the Shearer, Bonehead, or Punishment manifolds look like the best quality.
