I searched on this and didn't find much. I'm wondering if using some sort of water spray or even the CO2 spray's on our stock SMIC's will make them more effective to a certain degree? What boost levels will be stable at stage 1 mods with normal weather (not over 105 degf)???

If making a custom built system will keep it stable a few psi more I'd rather do that than spend the crazy amounts of money on a FMIC right away... Anyone with experience?

I've messed around w/ a custom intercooler sprayer.
Its one of those things that you can do if you got spare time. Just don't spend alot of time/money on it because while it seems to help it ain't worth the 300+ dollers some companies want to charge. I have no dyno numbers so i'm not going to say its works sweet but in my opinion it felt nice on those 80+ days when your sitting in hot traffic. You can shoot some -75 degree Co2 and it kills the heatsoak you get on those days. I have had no good track experince with it yet so im not going to say it helped. I would feel that you could run more boost with it but obviously only for a short time since its not always "on".

It can be done w/ any Co2 tank or fire extinguisher, steel braided line, No2 solenoid, and a spray bar that you can buy for like 20 bucks on ebay or make outta pipe yourself. i know there are plenty of old threads on this topic too. Try "Co2" or "sprayer".

Thank you very much for the links. It appears there is a lot of speculation and thought on this, but no scientific data collected... I figure I will attempt building a water sprayer myself and then collect data on various flow rates, and pulses... In theory a fast pulse every 10 seconds or so would be optimal such that the water would evaporate off the intercooler which requires a lot of heat energy. At least that's my thought, until someone tests it though it's just speculation. I'll see if I can't get us some real numbers...
