I'm about to spend some money on the 95 Talon tsi. I need some help on choices (name brands and models) for BOV,FMIC,boost controller, turbo header,, or anything to help me make more HP. My car is not a daily driver.(weekend warior)I read the path to make more Hp, but I would like some recomendations on these parts b4 I spend my money. My current setup is Big16g turbo,Ebay intake,1g TB,autometer boost gauge, everything else is stock. I would like to make around 275-300 HP. Will I need new injectors? Fuel injectors? for this much hp? thanks!!!:thumb:

You don't really need a "turbo header" also known as an exhaust manifold. You can just port you oem one, they're quite capable. Your going to need some fuel mods for the 16g, along with a logger, and some type of tuning device. You can go pick up a 1g bov, and there are tons of pages on fmic's that you can decide on for yourself. A new clutch probably wouldn't hurt either. Just follow the upgrade guide that you already read. Pretty much any questions you'll have on parts has been covered, so just search hard.

Happy modding

The extra horsepower you are looking for will be found in tuning as well as having the right mods to work together to generate more power. Right now your best bet would be to get a logger (always necessary to be safe). I think you would feel the most power right now from upgrading your exhaust. A full turbo back would make for a nice butt dyno improvement. Also don't forget a boost controller. Before you do any more mods, do a boost leak test and any general maintenence. :thumb:

You have a good start to your goal but there were many things along the way which you forgot. As stated before, be sure you perform general maintenance including a tune up on worn parts such as spark plugs and wires, belts, leaky gaskets, base timing, as well as all fluids. Beyond this be sure to perform a compression test and a boost leak test if possible as well.

From there just take a look here http://www.dsmtuners.com/sub.php?page=2gtstage1power at the upgrade path and you'll be able to see everything you missed. As far as parts recommendations..

-BOV; based on your budget you can get a fancy one or buy a cheap stock 1g which will hold fine.
-Boost Controller; MBC or EBC is up to your desires and budget, although I would recommend a quality ball and spring MBC such as a Dejon Tool, Hallman, etc.
-O2 housing/Downpipe/Cat or Test pipe; whatever in the size you are looking for at the cheapest price possible. In the end, your exhaust is just piping so you don't smog yourself to death right? The stock exhaust manifold is more than sufficient for your power goals.
-Fuel pump; I would recommend a Walbro 190 for your goals, and if rewired then it will flow enough for over 40 lbs/min of airflow (more than you'll likely reach with a Big 16g).
-Rest of fuel/control; 550cc injectors and an AFC/Logger combo will likely be more than enough for you, although there are many other options such as a chip, DSMLink, etc (which require an EPROM ECU, which your 95 may very well have). This topic has been discussed many times, although you can PM me if you have any questions you can't find.
-Drivetrain; being a FWD you could consider a LSD if you had extra money to get that extra traction. Your stock clutch will be able to handle the power you are wanting to make for a while, although over time (varies) you will have to upgrade it to something else, which could be a thread by itself as well.

In short, your turbo is sufficient for 275-300 whp, you just need the supporting mods to get there now. Let me know if you need anything else.

Your upgrade path right now depends on your budget, and there are a few things missing. Hard air intake pipe, filter, 2.5" turbo back, with the same diameter as the exhaust, port the 2g exhaust mani, and as far as BOVs go, I personally would go with a crushed 1G because the straight up stock 1G BOV holds till around 17lbs, but crushing them has proven to hold 24+lbs, here is a like to one way of crushing them>>> http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_bov_mod.html . Fuel: wally 190, and 550s like ^^^ said, with a DSMLink if your ECU is an eprom. You can tell if its an eprom by there being an "E" in the lower right hand side of the sticker in the middle. Here is a link for a Hallman MBC install>>> http://www.belitski.com/vfaqhallman.html . Like 2gGSX siad invest in some LSD because whats the piont of having the power if you cant transfer it to the pavement? I personnall would go with a Quaife LSD set up if you drive it a decent amount on the road, but a KAAZ if you just drive it to the drag track and back. Go with a set of NGK 7s, and Magnecor 8.5mm, or Taylor's wires. Try a pair of cams like a 264/272 HKS set up, or Comp Cams 200s, or a 272/272 HKS set up, these aren't needed but would be a good addition. Also if you dont already have soft compound tires that are z rated get a set. An ACT 2600 clutch will hold this new found power for you with no problem. Since you said its a weekend warrior a street compound clutch disc or 6-puck will be good, the 6-puck is a little rough, but if you dont mind that, and you dont get stuck in bad traffic then it will work. Also replace your tranny fluid, engine oil, flush your rad and re-fill it. Oh yeah and for FMICs the SBRs with blow-thru & 2.5" HICPs are decently priced thats what Im going to be going with over the winter for my 1G Talon. Ahhh yes, and port out the B16G if its not already. If you have any more questions real free to PM me, but if you follow the basics of this you will have a fast weekend warrior with quick 60s and fast 1/4s. Also if your looking for good track times then look into so weight reduction so the power to weight ratio is better. And dont worry about your turbo because it is rated for 350hp.

This guy doesn't need DSMLink and cams right now. I just don't know where you are recommending all these mods from because your profile says you are new to DSM's and have no mods on your own car.

Talon_Tid_Tsi, just stick close to the upgrade path in the tech section, it is a tried and true method for modding our cars.

small 16g, 550cc rc injectors, s-afc, intake, exhaust, mbc, fmic put me at 300whp. Simple and cheap to do.. you already have the turbo and intake. Also if you go with the s-afc a wideband wouldnt be a bad investment.

That was taken just after my cam suggestion, and I merely suggested them because evo 3s with cams make a good combo for power with quick responce, and yes I completely agree with you that he doesn't need the DSMLink, and that the SAFC 2 will be sufficient, but since he uses it on the weekends this gives way to the idea that he will be going for more power later on, and when going above 660s with a SAFC or SAFC 2 its harder to fine tune, thats why I suggested the DSMLink because why pay 200$ for a SAFC if shortly down the road he wants more power, and then has to get a DSMLink for 525$ when he could skip the SAFC and pay 325$ more and not have to upgrade his logging system...unless he goes crazy and goes for 1k+ hp. Also I may not have mods on my car at the moment but that is just because I work 50hrs a week and go to high school and have only enough time to place orders and take the boxes off the front step to my room, and as for the "new to DSMs" bit I may have only started last April...so just over 1 yr, but I have been helping my buddy with building his during our study halls, and during last summer.

Did he not say above that they aren't needed but would be a good addition?

And not everyone can afford car parts. If I didn't have a wife, a 2 1/2 year old, have other bills and I lived with my parents I'd be driving around in a 05 Evo MR and a 10 second GSX. Just because someone doesn't have time or money to do something, doesn't mean they don't have knowledge about what they are talking about.

Talon_Tid_Tsi - If you have an eprom ECU, I would recommend DSMLink too. It has a built in logger and is a lot more than an SAFC. Instead of spending on a logger, SAFC and possibly a (MAF/MAFT unit), get the DSMLink instead. If you don't have e-prom look at ECUPlus. If you want to use a GM MAF, look at the new MAFT Gen II. A wideband is a good addition too. Do you need all of it, No. Will it help you in tuning your car? Sure. It all depends on what your budget is. Start with the upgrade path in the Tech Guide. Once you make a list of what you want, post it and get comments on the items you think you want to get.

Thanks for everyones response!!! It is appreciated!!! I do have a budget, it's not a small budget, but not huge either, so all suggestons are greatly appreciated. I will consider the dsm link. I am going with the upgrade path, but wanted sugestions on what brand BOV,Boost controllers I need. I did buy am FMIC today in the group buy dsmtunners have with XS power. I heard too many good things about the fmic, not to buy it. I decided on a greddy rs bov, and a MBC (not sure what brand yet). Thanks everyone, and please keep comming with the great suggestions.

Cant seem to stress this enough. There is no need for alot of these mods if you dont have the fuel to support them. Pump, injectors, and even a afpr is a must to make your car reliable with power. But as with the extra fuel you do need some way to control it and these other guys have told you many good ways for that.

i got a 96 talon tsi mods are hks 264/264 cams, big 16g 20psi,550cc,greedy bov, apex 3in ex,tail38mm wg,vafc2,255fuel pump thats it motor is stock be sides the cams car dyno at 278whp.. it would make 300whp but sidemount was real hot i needed a fmic and the car is an auto.dsm's make power real easy u dont need to spend lots of cash.

Get a Joe P ($50) boost controller or a Hallman Pro ($80-$90) boost controller.

If you get the RS Blow off valve make sure you get the recirculation attachment with it so you can reroute it back into the intake.

If you don't plan on getting anything bigger than the Big 16G turbo get a 190 fuel pump and 550cc injectors. You don't need to spend the extra cash on an AFPR unless you get the 255 pump. If you know the B16G is not going to be your last turbo get an AFPR and a 255 pump.

I'm reading up on the greddy type rs (not the knock off) and the turbo xs RFL bov. anyone had good expieriences with these bov's?
