My Goal Is To Make A Street Running 1000hp DSM, I Know Most Of You Guys Are Probebly Rolling Your Eyes Saying "Ow God One Of These Randoms Again" But I'm Really Determined To Do This, Im Planning On This Project To Take A Couple Years To Do. I'm Just Tired Of Everyone Knockin On DSM Eclipse,Lasers,Talons And Saying That There Not Good Enought To Keep Up With The Skyline, Rx7 And Supra <- I Think These Cars Are Way Overated. So My New Project Is To Take The Stock 99 GSX That I Just Bought And Turn It Into A Monster. Was Woundering If Any Of You Guys Have Any Good Websites That You Guys Buy Your Parts From Or If You Guys Have Any Suggestions On What Parts I Should Throw Onto My Car. I've Been Researching This For Over 3 Months So I Got A Good Handle On What I Wanna Do To The Car, BUT SUGGESTIONS FROM FELLOW DSMERS ARE APPRECIATED!!! I'll Post Tomorrow All The Parts That Im Thinking To Add To The Car From The Internals Of The Motor, Interioir & Exterior. =-)

Thanks For Reading And Lets Help Me Build A "DSM From Hell" haha <- As They Say Supra From Hell, And Skyline From Hell haha

Guys

First, you don't have to capitalize the first letter of every word. Second, I hope you have about $20,000 and a lot more knowledge about building cars than you're leading on..

You aren't off to a good start.

-Capital letters on every word? It makes you seem like just another high school with a turbo car and no money. Or too much money and nowhere better to spend it.
-You have a time frame of years? I bet you get bored with the idea before the project is finished. If your time frame is that long and you are that determined, build a car with a lower horsepower target, just to get a feel for what it takes to build one of these cars.
-Have you even built a DSM before? Making a 800whp car that's streetable takes more than just throwing a bunch of cash at your car. You want more than 400hp per liter.
-Are you doing this yourself in your garage or are you going to have a shop do all the work?
-Your list of priorities worries me. I hope you realize that you will have to replace everything from the tires up to get it to hold together with 800hp. And it will still be a ticking time bomb requiring a constant flow of money to keep it running.

You've been on this site since April and you haven't seen people referring to the vendors on this site? Or pointing out the dyno section and telling people to look there and compare their parts list to those?

All this thread will get is people's dream build lists.

Lol this isnt my first dsm build just incase anyone was woundering haha

You posted this less than a month ago. I'm not convinced.

I'm all for seeing a 800hp build though.

I just want to chime in for a second here. On my build, I have spent well over $6000 and am only sitting around 400whp. If you are looking to have 800whp, look at spending triple or quadruple this amount.

Reaching 400 to the wheels isn't even an easy task man. It takes a LOT of work and dedication to get there. Time, money....MORE TIME because parts break, unexpected problems turn up. You think Shep built his car in a week with a small budget? LOL

Sure seems like it is. Not your first DSM build and you JUST registered this year?

hmm.

oil pump and fuel pump are the same thing? and what's a pressure valve spring?

I don't think no one is convinced. If it's not his first DSM, and all his friends always laugh at him, then he probably thought he was fast, and cool with the electric turbo. haha.

^ LOL just because i just registered doesnt mean squat hahahahaha forums dont mean everything LOL even if it does mean alot to you guys

I dont think that 800 or 1000 hp car is streetable

how many miles are on the car?

How much money do you have to spend?

I really wanna know this, because if you are a mister money bags, then its totally possible and I say just pour all you can into it and get to 800 hp

What's the point of getting a 800hp car?

do you just want it to have power to say it's powerful? or do you want a car the runs XXX 1/4 time?

And as stated above at that power level you will have to replace almost all of the components in the car to handle the power.

I dont think that 800 or 1000 hp car is streetable

they are streetable.

just can't have cheap parts, or cheap labor, or cheap work.

I know a dude, with a twin turbo stang, pushing close to 1200hp, and he drives it back and forth to work every now and then.

I disagree....getting 400 to the wheels is very easy

Hate to break it to you but usually it does...
Do you use Sign groves?

well you might consider checking the Compound turbo thread / build

Why? That is an over complicated system that is more show than go in reality. Its the same basics seen in running a twin turbo supra compared to a single turbo.

I just want to chime in for a second here. On my build, I have spent well over $6000 and am only sitting around 400whp. If you are looking to have 800whp, look at spending triple or quadruple this amount.

I agree with a lot of this, but 400 to the wheels is dauntingly easy and can be done for pretty cheap if the proper path is followed the first time around.

The main issue for the OP is that if you need to ask the questions you are asking then you aren't in a position to build a car of that magnitude. When I decided I was ready to build a single digit DSM I knew every single part I was going to use right down to the Oil. At this level, price shouldn't be a hindrance, a reliable 800whp car ESPECIALLY a street driven one requires $$$ and lots of it.

Also I found your reasoning Odd.. DSMs are known as beast, period. In the 4 banger world the most intimidating thing you can see at a track is a 1g DSM. The follows right up to the Evos.. I dunno where you live but 95% of people know that the 4G is king of boost.

I suggest you start off with something more your speed and squeeze some power out of what ever turbo you currently have.

This guy needs lots of reading.

Ironic post is ironic. :p

Forums are a huge information station (fuuuu I didn't just say that i must be full of turkey wtf!) What's the point of this? Do you want autox car, track car, drag car, don't say just a dd because well 800whp just for a dd is totally not needed haha. I dd my talon and I have 330whp, and maintaining it is key and expensive.

Now, tell us what you want from the car and what your budget is LOL? Btw the 2jz is probably the best engine toyota ever produced that thing is amazing.

TSimage, is 132312762354% right. That's not an exaggeration that's the percentage we use in Quebec.

I have a hard enough time trying to keep my drive-ability decent with 400whp, I can't even imagine on trying to manage a 800whp DD.. Just isn't logical, practical, or seen very often even with top DSM tuners.. You do it and I'll believe it, until I see progress I'm gonna call lame. No offense.
