Making a boost leak tester because today while doing a compression test I found that I'm running rich (plugs were black up into the threads) I'm hoping this is because of boost leaks even though my motor is due for a rebuild (90ish psi on cylinder 2). My main question in asking this is what size hose do I need to make a BLT for my 14b? And also does anyone have any suggestions on a budget rebuild kit?
 
Don't really need a hose, just use the same flexible adapter that connects intake to turbo. Only instead of an intake, plug the opening with a PVC cap with an air hose adapter and a pressure gauge in it.

I've read that. Yesterday my car took a crap on me (won't idle and dies coming to stop lights) it seems to pull a lot harder now though... I don't know why, I'm lost on this. I've set base timing and my BISS screw grounding the corresponding plugs for both and still nothing. I'm also 99% sure I'm burning oil so looks like it's time for a rebuild. I'm ordering all new internal hardware from ARP Tuesday, right now I'm looking for a decent (and cheap) gasket set an bearing, along with pistons. Using an AISIN water pump I found or 45$ also. Any suggeations?
 
I did compression and my results were mostly decent except cyl 3 which was at 90 psi. Do you have any suggestions on some budget bearings good for around 400hp?
 
I think I'm getting new pistons from NPR. I'll look into itm bearings though

And I saw that post before but I can find any couplers to go around the 2" inlet and the PVC cap I bought

The itms have are for around "350ish horsepower" I would rather spend more for the peace of mind of knowing I'm not going to spin a bearing on my backup motor.
 
I am not sure what size the 14b inlet is but what i did to make my tester, was use the coupler that attaches my intake pipe to the turbo and put the pvc cap in that. worked like a charm for me.
