edmonton,
I preformed this on my 1G, I imagine this works the same on a 2G.

1. Remove rear trim to gain access to your lightbulbs.
2.Now if you put your taillihgts in backwards they will be twice as bright, The reason for this is when you step on your brake they get brighter, putting them in backwards tricks your taillights into thinking your stepping on the brakes. The downfall of this is that now you only have your spoiler light to rely on to let other motorists know that your braking.
3. If you still want to do this you will have to grinds off the little nobs on the lightbulbs, doso with a file, you have todo this so that the bulbs can be put in backwards and pushed all the way down.
4. Now you no longer have the little nobs to hold the lights down, I suggest wrap electrical tape around the base of the light 1 time so that it fits in the hole more snug.

exactly, I actually didnt do through with this but I figured ifsome1 likes it then so be it

Why would anyone want their brake lights to be on all the time at night? A better idea would be to find a way to mount a rear fog light into the housing. And wouldn't that mod make your brake lights half as bright during the day? Since the filament that is normally your tail light is being used as the brake light.:D

No, you dimbulb. The dual filaments in 1157 bulbs are two different wattages, the taillights are 3W and the brakelights are 18W. Putting them in backward doesn't "fool" anything (anything brighter than lettuce, anyway), it just wires them wrong.

Congratulations, though, you may be in the running for Dumbest Innovation Since Removing Brake Pads To Reduce Rolling Friction And Improve Gas Mileage.

I second that motion.

Hey guys durrrr. I found out a really cool thing on my car. If you take the bulbs from the high beams and switch them with the ones in the low beams you trick the car into thinking the high beams are off when they're actually on. This way you can drive around with your high beams on without having that blue light on your dash and you can see better and a lot of people must think it's cool too since I'm always getting honked at. Durrrr.

Nice attempt at sarcasm, but you made yourself look like an idiot. Putting 9005 bulbs in the low beams is a useful mod, it gives a bit more light. Contrary to what some people think, it does not change the beam pattern either, so if you're getting honked at now, you were probably getting honked at before.

is there any way to make the headlights alot brighter???

im speechless that this thread has gotten this far

some of you guys are dumb, "I am Not running this set up" I DID IT TO SEE WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE AND THEN TOOK APIC INCASE ANY1 LIKED IT. Personally I dont like it. Beleive me theres alot more useless shit that has been done to DSM's in the past.

I love the DSM community but thats the one thing that bothers me is that people are so quick to say shit and criticiz. I know theres a "right way" and a "wrong way" in modding a DSM however it may be, I just though it was sorta neat and worth sharing.

i want my headlights to be red! can u put the brake light bulbs in where the headlights go? i mean, that would look like my car is drivin' backwards and stuff. that would be cool, right?

i think you'd probably get pulled over for that one buddy, for not havin' brake lights when u do break, and or not havin' blinkers. :thumbdown
