1G Make ac fan run with other.. ease my mind please

Installing koyo radiator and 13" slim fan. I made it to where my ac fan still bolts up. If i tap the 2 wires on back of ac fan will it come on with regular fan as i suspect? Also will it be too much draw if both fans run like that without adding a new relay?

Just add another relay using the regular fans power as the signal wire. You can attempt to run both without a new relay but for safety and peace of mind I personally would use a relay. There is the chance that it would work fine but at the same time it may be too much draw and may not even start one of the fans.

i have my dual 12 FAL fans wired together with no problems. its on a 2g but it shouldn't matter. is the fan relay on your 1g a 30A relay. if it is, you should be good.

What im not sure about is the stok ac fan wiring. It has some sort of ballast but wondered if i could juat use the 2 wires coming out the back. I have a relay i can use and will.

I re-used the ballast, as well as all stock wiring for both fans. I clipped off the fan-side harnesses off the stock fans before I threw them out, and soldered them to the SPALs so they're plug-n-play with my oem 1g harness. When I want the AC fan, I just push in the hvac snowflake button to green.

thats how i did passenger side fan. Plugs in like factory. My stock ac fan is still in place, just was thinking it might be good to make it run with other fan to make sure i get enough cooling.

But then again once i put fmic in im not sure the stock ac fan will fit anyway

I have twin Spal pushers and they work ok with the factory relay BUT the factory fan connector has too small of gauge wire and I found today that it had melted the inside of the connector from too big of amperage pull. Mine are twin 12's. I had to wire around the connector today with spade terminals to get them to operate again. I just noticed last night that they weren't coming on so just be aware of that. It melted the whole inside of that connector.
I will be putting a relay in this weekend to handle the load.

Good to know.. i only have one going for now so i should be fine. I want to get the curved blade one that flows 1720 cfm down the road but the straight blade 13 was sitting in my shop.. and since my radiator was peeing on the ground i put it in with the koyo aluminum. Would love to make ac fan run for insurance
