Hi all, I have probably another noob question. If I get a maft gen 2 what's the limitations on injectors? Also I know I need a logger but I can't seem to find them anywhere, when I go to look for one I keep seeing you need this or that like some sort of pocket device? Which doesn't even exist anymore. It's all very confusing to me LOL. Also my car does not have a eprom ecu, nor is it (socketed) if I were to get maft gen 2 what all would I need to be able to tune correctly up to hmmm let's say 400 to 500 hp max? I know I will need a wide band gauge or was it a wide band controller? I do believe if I get the wide band controller the maft will read out the afr right? I just want the cheapest way to tune that's as effective as possible, I don't want a maft to cost me as much as ecm link. ECM link will be right at $660 for me because of the no eprom, so I suppose that's the limit as for the tuning price seeing ecm link can do everything. Do you have a 1g? Fill out your profile. 1g guys would run 550s with a 2g maf and it would run, not perfect but doable.
If you have a 2g you can only run stock 450 injectors with the 2g maf. You can go up to 650s with just an safc, though that's pushing it. 550s or evo 560s would be safer. Regardless you'll at least need a wideband gauge if you're not using link to monitor your afrs. A logger would be good as well, but if you stay in those parameters you should be OK with knock.
 
I don't know about 500hp but you can run over 1000cc injectors with it. You run a GM Maf in blow or suck mode and dial it in. Its kinda neat for a little box. I have a car with one on it and a 16g and it seems like 550's by how I have to set the box. I am no pro with them but the car I got made me learn how to "tune" with it. I like my Link tho.
BTW...I didn't have any logger except the butt dyno.
 
Thanks for the help guy's, yeah it's a 93 1g fwd auto laser 7bolt. As of right now the engine is being built with scat rods and ross pistons with arp everything and acl tri metal bearings, the cylinder head is also getting supertech valves and guides because of the timing belt snapping LOL on top of that it will get the balance shafts deleted, ac delete and de powerd rack, I do know I will be running vrsf fmic and gm 3" maf blow through set up oh and greddy bov. I was going to run a custom 3" stainless cold air intake straight off of the 14b but the 14b needs a new turbine and shaft and a turbine housing seeing it has cracks all over it then you have to add up it being re balanced so that puts me right at the price of a used 16g or 20g so I will most likely go the 16 or 20g route. The car is just my fun slash weekend toy not to mention a project car, so I'm not looking to get everything all at once just over time. I just want to have everything in order so when I start buying this stuff I buy once and not twice if you know what I mean.
