MAF-T moved inside cockpit

Guys, I just spent about 2 or 3 hours in the driveway relocating my MAF-T(that I've had for a year) into my glovebox. Just wanted to say that it's AWESOME. I can actually tune now. My advice for anyone with the Translator, is to certainly move it inside where you can adjust it on the fly. This sounds pretty obvious, but I'm gonna stress the point!

Anyways, I'm going to do up a quick FAQ/Tech article with some pics hopefully tomorrow, to show how easy it is, and hopefully convice some members to do so. Note: No ECU splicing etc required.

I have mine located in the center console armrest inside of the compartment that nobody really notices or uses.

I dont see where any explaination is really necessary. They even sell a harness extension so theres no wiring even needed at this point if you wanted to do it.

16g-95gsx, that's a good job, for sure. I was thinking of putting it in the console as well, but not behind there. It wouldn't fit on a 1g. But that looks good, for sure.

Anyways, I had some time, so I posted some pics and a How-To on this incase somebody can't get the harness extension. It is very easy, but it's nice to see some pics and wire routing from time to time. The post is in the engine/fuel section of the tech articles:

I put mine in the ashtray spot and then modded the door to make a cover.....

Even has the ashtray light for night time adjustments.....

That is cool and I also like the little seat you made for your laptop so it doenst fly out of the seat when you are crusing down the highway and slam on the breaks cause of a cop .

Got a quick question about maf-t. If you have it dialed "rich" do any of you have a feeling of fuel cut? I let my buddy drive my car today and i NOW just noticed when he shifted there was white/white blue well, really couldnt tell looked white smoke comin out the exaust. Back to the point. I have it set so the only time it jerks is when the car's cold then i have a constant .87 o2 voltage w/ no knock ( o2 is so low cause its a 90) But does anyone think my spark is blowin out?? Or does it just sound like rich cut

That's a little off topic, but yes, if you're dialed rich, it'll feel almost like fuel cut, you'll stutter and buck.

Did you guys buy the extensions? Where did you route the wires through the firewall?

I did not buy an extension. I just wired it into the wiring harness and used the MAS wires.

I did the same thing last year in the glove box. Just took the AC out and run the wires through the empty AC condensor box under the dash. Cut a bit of plastic but it's gold. I couldn't adjust when it's under the hood, it sounds stupid to do that.
