What would be a normal price to have the wrist pins in my 1g rods bored over for 2g pistson? English Racing wants 135 dollars that seems a little steep to me. Plus the guy that answers the phone seems to have a 8th graders knowledge about cars which kinda worries me. Anybody know of any good/cheaper shops between Eugene and Vancouver? My local shop want just 100 to bore my block too, from what ive heard this is more spendy than most.

You've done it once, why not do it again and call some machine shops around you and find out?

Machine shops charge different prices from block to block, not to mention a different state, so we can't tell you what prices your going to find. Your best buddy is the phone in this case.

Like mentioned, the prices will vary from shop to shop. What is more important here is the shop's knowledge base and reputation. I would pay more for some services knowing the shop has a good reputation. Why? Well, if you spend a ton of money on the engine and are rebuilding it; I'm not a fan of doing things twice and ending up spending more because it was a "better deal" at the time.

Agreed, reputation is huge...

Sorry Myles does not know the most about motors.

Sorry if the price seems high but it's done right. We built 46 4g63 last year. So I can assure you we know how to do them right.

Maybe the guy answering the phone at english racing is in 8th grade? Look at how the cars they build run..... That should tell you alot.
