Resolved Lower ball joint nut torque

Just got done installing new lower ball joints. Since both the haynes and chiltons book dont go through changing out the joints does anybody know what I need to torque the nut too? I can only tighten it so far before the entire stud turns of course. Am I just supposed to tighten it until the whole stud turns or is it supposed to be tighter? and if so how do I tighten the nut more without it turning the whole stud?

Put a jack under the control arm and apply pressure that will hold the stud from turning.
The torque value for the lower ball joint nut is 42-52 ft lbs
It's a lot easier to torque them with the axles out

Alrighty thanks steve. Both axles and tranny are out right now, I'm havin some fun. May I ask where you got that info btw?
