--I've searched through the forums looking for things to check off but I'd like my own thread as it seems more personalized.
Last night I ran my car, pulling on an sti, and I noticed and a big smoke cloud as i took off. Right after the run, still on the highway, I noticed little embers flying behind me. As I got off the highway, i noticed my vacuum had decreased significantly from -11 to -2 (running 19psi) at idle ( when decelerating Hgs are normal) and it was sputtering. Sounds like when one has lost compression, burnt valve, or such. Although, it was still spooling strong (Didnt run it hard again but I could tell with my throttle response). It is running lean at idle but not enough to knock. EGTs all in the same range as before. RPMs fluctuate. I did a quick look this morning and all vacuum lines seemed in place.
Guessing I should check compression and timing marks
what else?
::edit::
All timing marks line up 3pm 9pm and at the 15 mark.
155 across the board.
