Hey tuners, first thanks to all dsm'ers for all the advise now and previous. So i just replaced a leaking water pump and while in there i replaced balance shaft belt, timing belt and timing pully's. now when i started my car, my aftermarket oil guage reads 20psi cold and 0 warming up.( used to read 70psi cold and 25psi warm) As well there a weird noise no around the timing cover area but nothing clanking, grinding, and all timing marks are in place and my oil light is on with the level being good...... Any ideas???

Yea I think I'm going to triple check the marks. Can the oil pump or bs possibly be 360* out by chance or would that not effect it. since I put the new timing belt it I also added oil catch can, fmic, gm maf and trans, deleted A/C . Not sure what it could really be....

USo I pulled the timing cover and found that the timing belt was pretty loose on the bottom end and with the marks all aligned the oil pump was 180* off, and the balance shaft belt plate cover is chewing into my timing belt, it was bent by the person who previously installed the bs belt. I guess you got to try in order to learn. Hopefully this takes care of the noise and oil pressure.

Ok reset timing belt and started real quick. Still have the same issue, 25psi on cold engine and oil light is on..... The car sat for a 1 1/2 months but was good before parked????

Alright guys I found out the issue, so upon installing everything I found a yellow w/black wire close to the oil filter housing. Assuming it was for the oil pressure I hooked it up with the after market oil pressure sender, so it was either grounding the circuit or something to cause the oil light and very little reading in my guage. So if anyone knows what that wire is for? that's the new question... Lol.

I believe it's either to the dummy light or the old sending unit on the oil cooler. Do you have two wires connected to the oil cooling unit?
