Loudest,deepest catback?

Hey,which catback do you think is the loudest and best sounding? Would you recomend 2.5' or 3' on a 1g?

best sounding= it matters on your definition and opinion on what sounds good, my opinion would be atr is the best low growl and the turbo whistle through the exhaust is the combo

I have heard that the ATR, or RNR cat backs are the loudest.

the cheapest Ive found is here www.dsmparts.com and its not a pissed off swarm of bees its a growl like a real car and a turbo whislte(if its open). If youve ever heard a grand national with exhaust it probly was atr either way thats what you get with atr...

The loudest is going to be any exhaust without a cat. VRS makes an inexpensive exhaust and it has a Magnaflow muffler (nice deep sound):

I know loudest exhausts are turbobacks, but how much gas mileage would i be losing with no cat? Im still debating over turboback or catback.Also, how much hp gain would i get with no cat?

I'll toss in a vote for RNR, because I have one, but any of the exhausts listed are good sound-wise.

tell that to my fix-it ticket i got last year haha i guess it was too loud and the cop actually wasnt a moron, so he looked, oh well now i can pass inspection much easier haha

oh and i've always enjoyed RNR...its nice and deep..even with a cat

I agree. I haven't heard any better than an atr. really the sound is all in the muffler.

You will be happy to know our cars dont sound like that, EVER unless there is something physically wrong with the exhaust system like metal shavings in the muffler/cheap muffler etc.

Dont worry you wont sound like a civic. God knows there is enough of em around here.

dont go without a muffler I have 3in now without a muffler and it sounds like a sick(not good sick ) 307 monte carlo and a slight turbo whistle....I cant wait for my muffler.

I love the flowmasters... They definately dont leave ya with a crappy exhaust sound.. get a 40series 2.5-3inch... my GS sounds awesome and I cant wait to try it on the Talon.. I got a 4inch laying in the back yard..

I haven't heard a bunch of different exhausts on DSM's but I got a 3" turboback with no cat and a Magnaflow muffler. It sounds deep, especially when the turbo kicks in. Downshiftin sounds sweet too. Just my 2 cents.
