Ah yes another question about which is the best BOV....blah blah blah. Now at least this gives people a chance to chime in about how well their BOV performs. I used to have a greddy Type s but I wanna see if there's anything better. Louder the better...It's always good to see the OMG look on some civc drivers face when the pssst sounds goes. So share with the class about your trial and errors with BOV's

ive had experienced with HKS SSQV & Greddy.. both vented and recirculated..

first off.. both sound very nice vented..

the hks ssqv. has that high pitched sound.. like a quick high pitched chirp... recirculated its almost silent.. wen ur full boosting u can somewhat make out a faint "whoosh" sound.. with some flutter.. but i dont think its as quiet or quieter than the stock BOV..

the greddy type s.. vented.. is also loud.. but has a different sound with a high pitched wistle like sound.. recirculated is suprisingly loud also.. but i think thats due to the bottom nipple which creates that wistle sound..

the RFL.. my friend had it on his WRX.. its just a very loud WOOOOOSSHHH..

i like the greddy type s overall.. both function and sound.. but if could vent.. i would take the hks.. i hear its also suppose to perform better? but if u want a lil of both for sound and quality.. i'd g greddy..

Recirculated defintely the Turbo XS R-34 it is a RFL just without the horn, i've vented it and its loud as hell... i cant imgine how loud a RFL is cause my R-34 is loud recirculated, it has a great wooooooooooshhhh sound, and at high boost it wistles slighty. If you vent it it woooshes and wisltes plus it comes with washers so you can adjust it and have the valve close faster if you wanna vent it witout having to worry about your car running like shyt. I've been recirculating mine for about a year now and scaring old people, bistanders, and civic boys.

Nice thread.

My next upgrade is the Dejon Tool UICP. So I've been looking at different BOVs to see what I should have it flanged for. I was originally looking at Greddy & HKS, but now I think its between Turbo XS(H34) & Greddy. The HKS is pretty pricey when you add in the recirc. kit.

*EDIT*
Turbo XS RFL Blow Off Valve Clip

the best recirculated BOV(by best i mean best performing, not the best sounding, although it sounds good) is the greddy type r, the type s was designed as a smaller version of the R to fit on cars like the 2g(type r in the stock location wolnt clear the hood of a 2g)
the best performong atmosphere dump BOVs are the tial, and the turbonetics godzilla, but unless ur running 25+ psi neither of those are nessiscary, and they dont sound as good on lower boost levels
but i believe the RFL is the loudest for boost levels under 20 psi(not the best performing, but none the less the loudest), but iv nevr heard one, and i hear u can addjust the apexi to be pretty loud as well
