lost spark?

I did an engine swap and broke my ect sensor connector and my car wont start just turns over?? I rigged the connector to work till I get a new one but now the car wont spark? had spark before and now none?? PT works and is new. Why would I loose spark?

what kind of engine swap? from 7bolt to 6 bolt? Replacing the 7 bolt?

a few things that control spark:

Cam Angle Sensor

Power Transistor (which you said is "good")

Coil Pack

My guess would be the Cam Sensor. Even with a faulty Power transistor or coil pack, you'd be getting at least 2 cylinders firing. Did you drop in a complete motor with the cam and crank sensors already in place?

ya dropped in a used complete motor 7bolt -had spark and now none -nothing is unplugged

Have you checked all of the wires? Did you make sure that none of the wires were crushed?

The only thing that can be wrong if you have checked everything up to the power transistor is the connector that connects the power transistor to the harness. The only thing you can do from here is check the power transistor with a 1.5 volt battery on the cylinders using the corresponding terminals on the power transistor.

You can also check for corrosion on the terminal of the connector itself if the swap has been sitting in the weather for a while.

What's the ect sensor that your talking about that you rigged?

engine coolant temp sensor connector is broke getting new one. I think that may be why it wont start but is that keeping me from getting spark?
