Lost spark after the car sat for 1 minute??

Alright so i was out tuning since i got my WB. and i pulled in my driveway to run in and grab somthing, i turned the car off for maybe even a minute. and i go back out to leave again. and Nothing. i pulled the lugs and turned it over no spark to all 4. the CAS is wrking. and i get power to coils... would a transistor back just go out from turning off the car?? i havn't had any problems with performance or anthing...

Anything is possible. It could be the power transistor/ignitor since that is part of what is needed to fire the coils. It could also be a wiring problem or an ecu problem. If the ecu isn't giving a good on/off signal to the power transistor it isn't going to fire.

i just tryed spinning my CAS with it hooked up and the ignition on, and it didn't fire the injectors. so im guessing its bad right?


and no, have no spark at all.

Does the CEL turn on for 5 seconds and then turn off when you turn the ignition on? On turbo cards the ECU will more the boost gauge to 0 as well.

The coils, power transistor, and fuel pump are powered from the ignition switch not from the MPI circuit like the ECU, MAF, CAS, solenoids, and ISC. So you could have lost the MPI circuit and still have the ignition circuit. Checking that the ECU powers up and turns on the CEL is a quick way to verify MPI power and basic ECU booting.

yeah because i can connect the ECU, and log on link with the car on the "on" position. i took the cap off the CAS, and the seal was broken and had alot of moisture in it. i already ordered another CAS.


and on top of that, the car threw the code "CAS malfunction"
