ok i have done a few searches and haven't had any luck. as the cold moves in, more symptoms show! when my car is cold (like if i let it sit overnight) the timing belt is a little loose and when u start the car u can see it wable a bit. but as soon as the car warms up the belt is tight and does not wable anymore. anybody else have a issue like this before and does anybody have any sugestions

do you mean the alternator belt? You cannot normally ''see'' the timing belt as it's behind a plastic shield to protect it?

That doesn't sound good. to my experience the belt usually stretches out a little bit when its warm. As for the timing belt, if you do feel like it's loose, i would check the belt's tensioner. 6 bolt and 7 bolt they have marks on them and are almost the opposite.

as far as I know they all do that, from what I'v heard the tensioner will kind of relax after everything cools off.
Then tighten back up when in use.
post some pictures of how much play is in it when it's cold

no, i mean the timing belt. I am missing the plastic cover on the top of mine, it is exposed.... would the tensioner tighten up when the car warm and then get loose again when it is cold? or would they usually just stay loose? i dont want to tighten it any if it is going to tighten up even more when it gets warm and then be too tight

As long as you have a known good tensioner and the gap is set right, put that cover back on and stop looking at it. I used to think it was to keep crap out of the timing gears, but Defiant set me straight. It's to keep you from constantly looking at it and worrying.

oh man is that true! gotta get that cover LOL im always lookin at and thinkin about it on all my dsm's

its pretty nasty outside so i will probobly do more investigation tomorrow, just wanted to see if anybody else had any expirience with this before

This is normal, assuming you tensioned it right when it was done last ( if it was done ) then you have nothing to worry about. As stated before the tensioner more or less "relaxes" and that makes it a little loose at the top. Try feeling it when it's cold ... then start the car and shut it off right away. Notice how it will be tight.
