im looking into getting a new clutch here for when i get my tranny rebuild but i have no idea on what is a good clutch, right now my engine is stock but i want to get it up between 400-500 hp and i want one that works well stock and then when i get the mods works well then, so far ive read alot about the act 2600

The 2600 is probably the favorite on this forum. Another option to take a look at is the Centerforce Dual Friction. I believe it is rated as a 2500lb clutch and works great for the AWD guys!

I had CFDF (centerforce dual friction) in my 295whp AWD and it didn't last very long at all. I'd do an ACT 2600 (also called extreme pressure plate) and street disk. When and, "if" you get to 400-500hp you'll likely need a new disc anyways. At that point I'd do a custom clutchmasters clutch with sintered iron disc. Most DSM guys dont' like clutchmasters but they're sick clutches. I had a clutchmasters stage 6 3200psi pressure plate with sintered iron disc in my Talon. That was a beast but what a great streetable clutch. (seriously it was great) Its the same clutch extreme motorsports used in Seans Talon. Like the guy above mentioned a carbon kevlar disc is pretty bad a$$. I had a clutchmasters carbon kevlar setup in my 470whp civic and 310whp turbo RSX and it work great.

I just put in a Spec stage 4+ clutch and it is very near stock feel. It's rated to hold 500 ft lbs of torque. I've had the ACT 2600 in my old EVO and it was not close to stock. The stage 4+ has an unsprung hub, which is what Spec recommended to me for AWD. I would highly recommend it, even over the ACT.

Well I haven't actually tried one yet... but I'm gonna order and try out the Slowboy Racing 3500. I've heard some good things about it on here and the price is good:thumb:

2600 or 2900, but for street i think the 2600 would be right for you

First of all when you shopping fro a clutch, you have to know that they are rated for LB/FT of torque, not horsepower. On Extreme PSI site most of ACT clutches are rated this way, so you will get the idea. Most likely ACT 2600 PP will be suitable for you, as far as the disk goes, you have a few choises:
- Kevlar
- Sprung 6 puck
- Street disk
What Twicks69 said it is true. He is very knolegable and experienced person, but in the end it's up to your pesonal prefference.
