Looking at buying a 1G Gst

I am looking at buying this guys 1g eclipse gst for $1000. He said its hitting fuel cut on stock boost. Would 2.5" piping make it fuel cut or is there something else I need to check for? I don't mind having to put a little money in it to get it running right, I just don't wanna buy a car that is pretty much hopeless.

What should I be looking for when I drive it?

He said the car has new turbo, 780cc injectors, FMIC w/ 2.5" piping, GM MAF, and aftermarket manifold

probably running a stock fuel pump on them 780's causing it to run dry/lean the stock fuel pump cant supply enough.

find out what ALL he has done.

If it runs and drives well your in better shape than most people on this site. Tons of projects on here. Remember that there are most likely going to be issues with a car that old. Its going to take some wrenching to get it where you want it. Its fun though and these cars are surprisingly easy to work on.

I agree, find out everything. Looks like he just threw on a bigger turbo, bigger injectors, and exhaust, but didn't bother with the full fuel upgrade or fuel control

He said there is no tune on it. He said the car runs but at WOT it hits fuel cut. This car is going to be my toy/project and as soon as I get it, it's going into the shop to get torn down and get a good tune up before the real work begins

Yeah. Parts are only half the fun. Tuning gets the most out of the parts.
