Look what i woke up to see

I woke up to this today. Somebody just smashed into my baby in the middle of the night and caused $1,500 damage!

Well, insurance is paying for it, but i have a 500 dollar deductable. This still makes me so mad that some A-hole would do something like this.

Is the $1500 a professional estimate or a guess? Although it may look like just the quarterpanel, tail light, and new paint on bumper cover (that dent will pop out), you should check the frame rail on the passenger side. A dead giveaway is that your hatch will not line up with the rest of the car.

I had a very similar mishap, dented the quarter panel just at the corner where the hatch, tail light, and quarter meet, didn't break a tail light, but my passenger side frame rail buckled. The gap between the hatch and tail light/license plate area is off by about 3/8" from left to right (left has big gap, right has small gap).

Just something to check into. If you just get the panel and light fixed and paint, things won't line up if the frame is bent. I could actually see the bucked steel looking up from under the rear of the car.

Oh, and that sucks.

Yea thats a professional estimate for a new bumper cover, tail light, and there gonna fix the quarter panel. They said it may cost more though. People need to learn to drive, if you hit a parked car, imagine them driving with moving cars!

Heh, no doubt! You might want to hang onto the old cover. Mine puckered in like that for about an hour in the sun and then it popped back out on its own. Needed paint, but nothing was torn or creased. Maybe yours is a different story. I guess you might as well get a new cover since you're gonna be spending $500 out of pocket anyway, but having a backup to sell or use when YOU mess it up wouldn't hurt.

Do you live in an apartment complex or something? Any way any security cams could have picked up someone leaving the area? That would be the first thing on my mind.

1,500 isnt that bad including parts, paint and labor. I got into an accident needed a new hood, fender bumper radiator and rad support a shop quoted me 2500 to paint and hang all the new parts. What really makes it expensive is the labor. I work at a mercedes dealer and the labor rate here is almost $100 a hour . just to change a battery is $50 1/2 hour labor.

Holy crap!!! Where you parking that thing; in the middle of the getto! You got wads of cash sitting in the open on the seat so theives keep trying to get at it! That really sucks man. Does a car alarm repel them at all?

around my old apartment used to be nice and peaceful but after for a years SNIPER shooting in maryland and things.. going on.. man.. the place just look messup i know a guy got his car stereo stole like 6-7 time in his BMW. even last time he put damn stock in the car. stil.... the car alarm? they don't even car they throw the rock to my windows and open the hood cut of the battery wire. but guess what... they stole only stereo FACE but didn't take the machine because he can't pull it out from dash. all the blood over my interior. i'm likes... jesus.... finally get in to insurance paid 500$ deducted get in done.
1 1/2 years 4-5 times everytime cause around 4000$+. Now i'm drive scion XB. NEVER FEEL FRESH like this before ... don't have to panic at night, worry abt car. i used to think one day if i found the person who break in to my car. i'll beat da shit out of him. will drive my car roll over his leg .... "sound like serial killer"

haha nah i live in a townhouse its like a ### little developement that the grass cutter always yell at me for dumping fluids (antifreeze, oil) all over the ground. I wish i had a garage but oh well. I wanted to get my bumper repainted anyway , it was dukker than the rest of the car(mad shiney).
