loggers?

Can someone tell me exactly what a logger does and what it reads out on the screen, whats the point of it etc? I know its bascially a heads up display of some specs on the engine but what are they?

I have a 95 GSX and I was told it doesnt have the OBD-2
and I can use the reader thing.
Is this true? Is there a difference between say a 95 and 96?

IIRC obd-ii is 96+, which means your 95 does not have it. Only reason yours would be obd-ii is maybe it was manufactured in 95 to be a 96 model and was sold as a 95? This is just speculation though.

many Chyrsler cars started ODBII in 95, I thought the talon was one of them.

The Logger is a very useful tool when tuning and trying to diagnose problems with your OBD 1 dsm. It will allow you to check all your trouble codes and monitor information sent to the ecu from the engine like your air temp, tps voltage, o2 voltage ect. This is a very helpful tool when when tuning because it will give you live data which can be compared to original data logged before the problem or before you add new parts. If you plan on modding your dsm you should consider getting one so you can make sure you are going in the right direction and to help prevent major damage to your motor. Hope this helps.
