For some reason my palm isn't logging. I'm using OBDguage for by 95 (OBDII) GSX. This is the least of my problems though. I just finished rebuilding the motor and the motor is running great. But, for some reason, while my logger was still working, it was pulling timing whenever you'd hit the gas. I later found out I had a bent valve, so had he head mahcined and new valves put in. I get it running again and now it won't log. I have no idea why. Also, I have tried 2 ECUs and both these problems still persist. I'm just assuming that it's still pulling timing since that's what it was doing before. The only thing I know of that would cause that to happen would be the knock sensor, but ofcourse OBDguage doesn't have knock on it. So, here's what I need help with. How can I get my logger working, and what else would cause the car to pull timing like it is.....or so I think it is. The symptom that are making me think this is very slow acceleration. You can stomp on the gas, and it barely creeps forward. I know I have fuel pressure because I have an afpr set to 36psi (a little higher than the 33psi my manual says) and the guage says it's reaching that point.

Sorry for bumping this, but I had a thought and want to know what you guys think. I tried testing my knock sensor and couldn't get any voltage from it. So, if there is no voltage from the knock sensor, would that cause the engine to go into 'limp-in' mode. I read on here in another thread that there is a 'limp-in' mode for the engine that causes it to have '3degrees retard at all time'. Could this be causing it to not have any power? The only thing is, is the log from when it was working (which I don't have anymore) isn't consistent with this statement. Is there anything else that would cause it to go into this 'mode'? I've tried searching but can only find stuff on tranny limp-in. Thanks again guys.

Well, I found out it's still retarding timing. Even when in Nuetral. I tried a new knock sensor, and no luck. Also, I noticed that the load was really high, I figured this is because I'm missing my mdp sensor. Does the ECU use the mdp to calculate load? Also, it's gotten difficult to turn the crank again. Why would it keep doing this? Last time that happened, I loosened the rod caps, torqued them back down and they were fine. I plastigauged the bearings, they're all fine. Paul measured the rods and crank for me and said they were fine. What I see happening is that it's retarding the timing to overcome the load. When you get to higher speeds it will let timing advanced little by little. So, do I need an MDP, and why is it hard to turn the crank? possible signs of crankwalk?

Alright guys, I really need some help here. The car is still pulling timing and I can't figure out why. I've tried everything I can. Would something not right in the bottom end (something out of round, wrong bearings) cause this issue?

well i know the stock fuel pressure on a 2g turbo is supposed to be 43 psi so that may actually have something to do with it, you said your is set at 36 psi so its worth a shot to put that back to where it is supposed to be :thumb: worth a shot man

The fuel pressure is now at 42psi. And the pressure is supposed to be 38 with the vacuum connected and 43 w/o.

Well, come to find my balance shaft bearing are bad and I can barely turn the rear balance shaft by hand (the one on the oil pump). Also, I have what looks to be bearing material in my oil pan, which is to be expected. Can someone show me pictures of bearing material in the pan because the person I was working on it with said it looked more like coolant, but I didn't see the water bubble (water separating from oil) I just want to double check.
