Logger help with setup on Laptop ?

Ok well heres the deal...

I plan on buying linkv3 but its going to be awhile due to ill be getting front mount /injectors & v3link at the same time.

So while I'm saving up the 1300 bucks i would like to have a logger in the mean time to scan for knock .... i'm 99%sure im getting some knock ...

Is there anyway i can set this up on my laptop ?... (windows 7)

The words that are in bold are corrected words my friends.I received a warning due to bad grammar and spelling.

I'm trying to attach a cable from my laptop to the car and have logger/scanning software on my laptop then being able to scan the car for knock and check other stuff .

I just need something for a month or so till i save the money's for the injectors/front mount setup & Linkv3.

That can be done with the correct cables, the trick is findng one i have one for 1g im getting ready to sell asap. It the entire kit, logger cables from dianostic port to the cable for the palm m but its for the whole kit. Or just wait. til you get link.

You are gonna need a logger cable, I don't believe that a serial to USB adapter will work, so your gonna have to have a serial port on your laptop.

If you don't have a serial port on your laptop is there any way to log with only a laptop

No you can possibly do it with a serial to USB adapter but your still gonna need the cable, atleast for a 1g

LoL i just said the heck with it .... I went ahead and got the Inter-cooler and V3 lite.

Sofar so good seams fairly easy still working my way around the tuning...

The good thing the car is only seen 0.4-1.2 * of knock even with my IDC @ 114.6% @ 15psi so needless to say its time to chill to i get the injectors in.
