Hey so I'm trying to do my first laptop data logging setup. I wish to use a laptop I have I'm not interested in a palm device. I have been reading for hours for the past couple days but have yet to come to a good clear answer. I know I need a USB to serial (rs232) cable so got one from RadioShack (brand: gigaware) not sure if it is compatible with the 1g ecu yet. If possible I would rather make my own cable, does anybody have a link on how to do this? Not too sure on where to find the palm emulator or the rest of the mmcd stuff to put on the laptop. I have been reading so much on this my mind is going in circles and I just need a couple answers or a breakdown of this from someone who's done it. All help greatly appreciated
