I just found my palm and data logger cable. But my palm has sat for so long that the MMCD tools app is gone. I can't find my sync stand so I was wondering if I can convert my cable to usb and run on my laptop or what the easier solution would be.

Was it a diy cable? You could adapt it fairly easy to usb like so

Or buy a null modem adapter and keyspan usb to serial adapter, like so
jackal logging DIY set up for 1g dsm

They are rather picky when it comes to adapters. Not any one will work, so id stick to what is known to work. The keyspan is around $25.

I just ordered a kit with mmcd on a backup sd card. Maybe when it comes in a few days I could send it via email or somethin.


edit: oh wait you lost your sync cable..

I guess since you already have a cable, you would need a null modem and the keyspan thing like in that second link above. And that should swap it to usb. Only difference is they made they're own cable.

Yeah I just bought another palm/hotsync station from ebay for $15 so now I'll have a back up either way
