Lock stuck unlocked

I just bought my first DSM and the drivers exterior door handle does not work which i have looked up and know how to fix but i cannot find a post about locks that ceased. The current position of the locks isn't all the way at the unlock position if that makes a difference. Power locks sound like they are trying to work but there isn't any movement. There are some posts were people are saying you need new locks. Others say they are binding somewhere.

I have seen previous posts close to the same were people are bending keys (mine came bent) just trying to unlock them. I can't put anything aftermarket in until I can get them to work.

If I just didn't look hard enough can someone find a post of someone who had fixed the problem? If not I plan on taking the door apart soon and seeing what I can do then explaining to help other people with this problem.

Theres a little plastic clip that clips to the back of the lock, when you turn the lock it turns a switch on the plastic piece that will actuate the door locks, if it falls off or isn't fully clipped on that little switch will get locked to the left or right and make the doors always try to stay locked or unlocked pending which way its turned. Pull the door panel.off and either reclip that plastic piece back on or center the little switch so it.isn't to one side or the other. I had the same thing happen on my spyder.

I did take apart my door today. I first looked at the clip that you had talked about but as i looked deeper it was in the power lock actuator and latch assembly. First the motor was ceased and wasn't functional at all. From what i saw one of the joints that needs to move for the door to lock and unlock was rusted and unmovable as well. I need a new actuator and I solved my broken door handle but for now please don't get into my unlocked DSM.
