My a/t temp, brake, and battery light all come on at the same time when driving. The check engine light also comes on so im thinking the alternator after reading some threads. Any ideas?

Having the three lights (cooling, brake, battery) on at the same time (especially if they are dim of flickering) indicates your charging system. It is usually either the alternator or the ALT fuse. Check the ALT fuse first (black 80 amp in the corner of the under hood fuse box) and if that's good then pull your alternator and have it checked for free at the auto parts store.

Here is the ALT fuse:

Here's another good thread you can check out: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/2082-brake-battery-light-flicker-off-dead-alternator-merged-4-8-a-7.html

Hope this helps!

Should be a bolt and nut holding the fuse in at the bottom, 10mm if my memory serves me correct.

Yea it's a 10mm. I saw them underneath the fuse but didn't think that would be holding it on. How do you tell if these are bad? I am going to go out and swap one from the NA if NA's even have them. I am pretty sure they do. I remember messing with it before.

Close. Two, 10 mm bolts, no nuts.

It has 2, 10mm bolts holding it in (one from each side). A N/A 4G63 will have the exact same fuse in the exact same spot held in by the exact same 10 mm bolts. It is a fuse so sometimes you will be able to see that it is broken, however the best way is to replace it with a known working one. They can be picked up at any auto parts store for $1-$2 bucks. It's good to keep a spare with you anyways so I would grab one or two.

Hope this helps!

Didn't help me. My lights are still flickering. Heres a vid I took showing my lights blinking.

The idle lopes along with the blicking of the lights. It isn't noticable in the video but the idle lopes or surges kinda at about 50 RPMS up and down. Also heard a weird buzzing sound from the fuel pump the other day.

It's not always the problem but its the first thing I would check. Next would be to pull the alternator and have it tested.

fourgsixthree, I can't see your video as I'm not at my home computer. I'll take a look at it later tonight or tomorrow.

It would always be a smart thing to eliminate the cheap, quick, easy possible things that could be causing your problems before spending a larger amount of money. And ok, let me know what you think of it. It's weird.

Theyre only 99.99 at autozone with a core charge

Only? Lol. I don't shop at the Zone. I prefer Advance.

Check these simple things that might cause similar problems:

1. Battery bolted down, not bumping hood, cables all tight?

2. Power steering wire hooked up? Was making mine nearly stall when flipping a U-turn.

3. If your "splash guard" (Lower engine cover?) is gone a good puddle will cause same symptoms. And a lot of belt squealing.

Today when i was looking at the grounds on my alternator they looked fine but the belt thats attatched to the alternator is pretty lose. Could this be my problem instead of the alternator. How do you tighten the belts?

First i would get a manual as far as to tighten the manual you need one so much information there for 20 bucks cheaper than an altenator. If its no power, or less, 1g a logger helps so much got me one , cheap easy way to check codes, it helps soooo much.

Ha yeah i have a data logger on the way from 1glink.com and my chiltons repair book is at my house in illinois and im in wisconsin for the next week. I was hoping to get the info i needed from a dsm forum meantime
