well here is my question. my car has full 3" cat-less turbo back, but it is 2.5" from the o2 housing to the flex, and its an RnR cat-back which is slip fit. I notice a big difference in spool up time and pull with just poping the muffler off. I am running 26psi on an AGP T3T4 60-1 set up. And with my 7.5:1 compression I need all the spool up time I can get. Does anybody make a 3.5" turbo back. Or a FULL 3" downpipe ( I think this will help out alot).
thanks
matt

I noticed that about my downpipe. I am looking into the Buscher Racing Downpipe, which looks to be a complete 3 inch downpipe. So does open downpipe make a huge hp increase? I plan on getting tuned like that because it might be a while until I get the Buscher Catback.

Get a bigger wastegate and dump externally.

I have a full agp t3t4 kit, which has a 38mm Tial!!!!! And my spool up now is around 4000ish due to my low as heck compression (7.5:1) and with open catback spool is around 3500?????? just it is SO insanly loud and sounds like an 18wheeler ( awsome as hec two-stepping tho)

hmm i just checked, your right. they must of taken it down. i know they used to have it, sorry.

Unless you have a t04r cover, you don't need a bigger exhaust. You don't need a bigger wastegate either unless you're boost creeping. Take your exhaut off, take it to a muffler shop and have them weld one up.

I don't know about to4r but a couple of examples here on the board would be Dre who was contemplating going 3.5 after d/p., rdrkt wanted to go 3.5 as well and was quite sure that it would give him some edge. Sure, you gotta be at a pretty substantial level already to be wanting that but I don't see why not if you are planning to be somewhere in that territory. The downsides would be 1. Clearance (both body and ground) 2. Noise 3. Cost

Well I am running 26psi on a 60-1 with a T3T4 .63ar housing. ANd My boost is fluttering a hair between 25-26. Supposidly I have to upgrade to the .82ar exhaust housing to help solve this. But there is a huge difference between with the exhaust and without. I went 12.01 at 121 then removed exhaust and misshifted 3rd and went 12.13 at 104 I know if I got a good run with the exhaust off It would have been an 11 sec run for sure!!!

1.8 and 2.0 liter Honda boys are making 600-700whp on a t3 .63 a/r hotside, don't upgrade, it's plenty big. Not to start a flame fest, congrats to Dre on the power he's making, I hope he coated his pistons..

RNR Racing makes a 3'' 1 piece o2 eliminator and downpipe w/ the choice of a 3'' test pipe or 3'' high flow cat.

yes. I have that downpipe, and the stock filter was really close. I think the 3G eclipse is the same filter as the 3000GT. If you search on here, a guy that worked at a dealer gave a run down of all the different Mitsu oil filters and what cars they were intended for. I can get you the part number of the filter I'm using if you/your friend needs it.

if you could that would be great, any idea how much shorter it is? he put a napa gold on it now and its small in diameter but a tad longer than the one on my car.

DevilSperm - You dont have to use the fram filter but you can cross reference its part # -ph3950

volcom121 - Matt cant use their o2 emliminator downpipe because hes using a AGP t3/t4 turbo kit....meaning it uses a t3/t4 exhaust flange. The did offer him a nice deal on their custom 3.5" turboback though!

Mirage2LTurbo - Dre Made that 500+whp by using a .82 a/r exhuast housing :shhh: ....aka why its called the "DRE SPEC" 50trim.

95AWD_TSI_TALON - Matt I believe the reason your gauge is fluttering at 25-26psi is because its boucing of its limit...because it ONLY READS 25psi MAX OMG ! Now stop trying to be like Kenny (ME) because you dont have a Magnus 2.4L and a AGP T3/T4 56trim kit ;) I was told to either upgrade to a full 3.5" exhaust or run a cutout to fully utilize my new motors "BREATHING" capabilities. Its not a "MUST HAVE" but it is "NEEDED" if you want MAX power from such a large setup. I personally will be running a cut down 3" DP when going to the track, $1k exhaust systems dont seem worth it to me.

Not really. Have you seen the power band on those cars? It might be a few hundred RPM and even then it doesn’t go very far up in the power band. You should run the biggest turbine side you can get away with. I WISH I had a P trim in a T4 housing.

  Right because that would help how?

Yes, I have seen those cars. They are the same cars running low 10's that I have seen in person. Your "oh they make no power band" holds about as much water as the "I make more hp per liter than you". I do run a P trim T4 hotside, .58 a/r, btw.

How would coating the pistons help? Have you seen his dyno? Are you sure that's a horsepower/torque on the graph and not horsepower/knock? Please.. 510whp on a fitty trim on pump gas? Give me a break.

All I do is run the 1g 6 bolt oil filter. I was running that on my old 7 bolt motor and still run it on the 90 external oil housing. Its just like kenny said a fram ph3950 but dont use a fram- they suck real bad, do some research and they are one the the crapiest filters out there.
