Hey guys.. Just curious to see what you all think is the restriction in my setup. What to upgrade next?

Here's a short mod list:
Built 2.0 6 bolt block, 1g big rods, Mahle 8.5:1 pistons. ARP head studs
SBR ported stage 4 head
HKS 272 cams
Full 3" exhaust
HX35 7 blade turbo, .55 BEP housing, BEP cast manifold
Punishment racing fmic with 2.5" piping
Tial external wastegate
Stock 1g intake manifold and throttle body
FIC 1650's on e85, Walbro 255 pump, braided stainless fuel lines
Probably forgetting some other stuff...

Would a JM Fab or Magnus intake manifold benefit me or is a stock intake manifold sufficient??? How about the .55 housing on the turbo? I was also considering a thicker intercooler core like 3-4 inches thick...

Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Need your goals first but the BEP housing is a limiting factor for sure.

Your core is fine.

I would say the intake manifold, BEP housing and single 255 wally (especially considering your own E85) is your limiting factors here.

But you also didn't mention other things like tuning software, AFPR, valve springs, etc.

Didnt someone made like 650 some hp with a hx40 and the bep bolt on housing. And we talking hx35 here not 40

A T3 .70 a/r housing is much different than a Mitsu .55 a/r.

You should definately upgrade to a JMFab or a Magnus, with the ported stage 4 head and HKS cams, you would see some nice gains in the top end, and depending on what your going to be revving to and the flow rate of your turbo would determine which manifold to get (street, race, drag)

THanks for the replies. I honestly dont have a certain goal with this car. I basically just want to go faster and keep it streetable, without changing the entire setup.

I would be thrilled to run some low 11's with this car. Does anyone think that is unrealistic? Maybe even a 10.99 on a cool night???

I figured the intake manifold would be a big restriction, since it has a really good head and aftermarket cams. The thing is, I just havent seen too many people actually running a Magnus or JM Fab manifold. Maybe because they are pricey?

So a T3 .70 BEP housing would net me some reasonable gains?I would need a new tubular manifold for that to work correct?

Heres some more info I didnt list:
Tuned with DSMLINK V3 for 30psi
It has a fuel lab afpr
stock 2G MAF
Dejon 4" intake pipe

Soon to be using a TMZ stage 2 trans with a Quartermaster Twin disc clutch.

Yeah, I still think that turbine housing is your biggest restriction there. A 1g intake manifold is quite capable, so I think your good there. If your on E85, that intercooler should be just fine as the fuel will cool it the rest.

I would either switch to a larger a/r housing to go with the original 12cm TS housing. They would require different manifolds.

I was thinking drivetrain.... But I see your planning on upgrading it. So I would say a bigger fuel pump setup and swich to speed density with link

The fuel pump is most def a restriction if your going to be running E85, you could upgrade to a stealth 340 or a walbrio 400. And your 2g maf will be a restriction after you pass 350 hp

your looking for around 400whp im guessing, maybe a little more? to my limiteds knowledge of holsets i would think you can make your goal if its 400. i havent heard the IM is too restrictive, the main thing on these cars is tuning and the exhaust side of things being right.

lets hear the whp goal you have
just saw becks post, i dont believe that a 2g maf is even close to topping out at 350whp. those things are good for in the neighborhood of 50lbs/min, maybe 45 but its still way up there dude

I'm more concerned with track times than horsepower so I haven't put too much thought into hp. But let's just say I'm shooting for 400+ to the wheels. Honestly the car feels really strong with its set up now, I'm just looking to get more out of it. I will Definately look into a bigger single fuel pump and different hot side of the turbo.
