Hey guys I just bought new 3rd gen lifters for my car. Can I install them WITHOUT taking the camshaft out?
Recently went to get my dyno tuned at ground zero performance(easton,PA) and my lifter tick was showing up as knock and the car was breaking up in the topend. I was pissed, knock was showing up even at low throttle. Impossible to tune. Any help greatly appreciated!

As a mechanic and a car enthusiast working on my own stuff I sometimes run into lifters that wont pull out by hand or with pliers. for these "special" ones I spray carb spray into the holes in the head that are about an inch away from the lifter this can help loosen them up. I also use a pair of side cutters(dykes) as my weapon of choice for getting the "special" ones out.

I did my lifters after I did my cam install I had to use lifter shims because of my regrind cams but Just make sure you bleed them good. I forgot too and my car was noisey
