I believe I was reading an Auto Mechanics book a while back about installing cams, the book mentioned it was highly advised to install new lifters every time you replace the cams. I forget the reasions for the new lifters. What are your views on installing new lifter with new cams.

I've got BC272's I'm procrastinating on, and a little currious..

You were most likely reading a publication that was refering to a cam in block or flat tappet stlye valve train. In this type of application the lifter rides directly on the cam lobe. In this situation the the cam lobe and lifter tend to wear together, and just replaceing one or the other can lead to failure of one, the other, or both.

It is almost never a bad idea to replace the lifters on a DSM if you think they are the original ones. However since they do not ride directly on the cam lobes, the above mentioned situation dose not occur.
