I have a set of stock 2Gb Eclipse wheels on my 93 TSi. I have been thinking about painting them black. Just not sure. The wheel on the left front has so much nasty black brake dust that won't come off. So it doesn't look the greatest. Eventually, I plan to get another set of wheels anyway. But here is a couple pics. Open to all ideas and opinions.

No, instead you should stop rocking stock rims. ;)

Lol. I plan to get some aftermarkets sometime after the hollidays.

I would paint the car. Then think about the wheels.

I am going to repaint it Purple. It has the "chameleon" paint. It's pretty fainted now but if you look at the rear bumper in sunlight, it's amazing. Especially when wet. I'd like the whole car to look like that again. The car, with the exception of the rear bumper, has what painters call "Orange Peel". Basically, it means the paint needs alot of buffing LOL.

I don't think its going to look any better black, they still won't match your car

Paint the car... Then if you must stick with the bright, sparkling silver look those rims have! With the fresh painted car it will be pure sex... I love OE wheels on car as it gives it a much more at home look

Still gotta say the EVO IX wheels got the Konigs beat all day but to each there own

Fresh paint changes everything... My GS with fresh paint right before I sold it!

Alright, so let's talk about painting the entire car. I am sticking with purple. But as to what I will mix, I don't quite know. My girl wants me to paint it purple and paint the wheels gold. I am eventually doing the engine bay purple and gold as well. I have done some searching of purple DSM's but there really hasn't been many pictures I could find.

I like the black rims with the red outline and the red cap.. makes like if the tire itself has a red wall line on it.

But, black rims only looks good with certain body colors - which are the lighter colors.

Purple is a dark color where chrome/mag/aluminum rims would definitely highlight that dark color quite nicely.

You want to break up the color schemes - dark and light, or light and dark .. not together.

Plus, with a black rim on a light colored body with that added red stripe adds the very light third color scheme in the whole layout which really does look good.

Because stock can never be that sexy. 18 x 8, 18 lbs.

1. 18x8 is a weksos size
2. color matching red stripe is ghey as f3ck
3. only ricers rock konigs with red stripes
4. thats why people think dsmers are all ricers :ohdamn:

And this is the color we were thinking about painting our drag car. Midnight Purple LP2

IMO, purple can be pulled off if done tastefully... I say go for it

The color on my car was off of a Scion TC and it looked sharp, black at night but during the day and when the night hit it the color really shined, got alot of compliments on it and it was close enough to stock you couldnt tell the different when you opened the hood or door jams just looks like aged paint.

The rims I say go with Silver or a Bronze like the R34 has... Keep it clean and simple and your car will be a real head turner
