So, I just spend 2 hours painting my car chocolate brown. I broke down and bought some good paint and decided to do this the right way. This'll be the paint progress page

I am getting excited for the rest of the car. Haven't even polished or wet sanded yet. This is under a 6500K florescent bulb.

If you paint each part at different times they may not match later when you put it altogether. You are using a metallic paint for best results you need to paint it all at one time. The best would to be on the car. I have painted a lot of cars. The color could look different on each part an then different then the cars body. It is do to temp, mix of thinner to paint. The metal flakes will float at different levels in the paint. If it is cooler out then the last part will lay down deeper in paint an if hotter will stay higher. But other then that the pieces look nice.

Yeah, I know too, I ran into the same problem when painting my old Corolla Metallic blue. It wasn't bad though, so I was alright. But I don't have that luxury of painting the whole car. I have no paint booth available, so the only place to paint is on my balcony, one piece at a time. Either or, I really only need a good "5 footer", and so far, I have been shaking the bottle furiously between coats, so I am trying to eliminate this as best as I can.

I have often given though to this option when a paint booth wasn't available.

Rent a large storage until for a month. Try to find on with power, if you can, just see if you can rent/borrow a generator. Cover the walls and floor with plastic. Although, you won't be saving as much money, you should have better results.

Not too bad, I still think you should have gone with the spoiled wildberry :p. Don't hate on Hershey's as it's about 10min down the road from me w00t!

ya you dont need to big of an area and panels like you have there are ok to paint off the car as long as you get an undercoat. as for renting a garage it sounds like a good idea and is. make sure your car is grounded and you have fans going...if your doing this make sure you have lots of tac cloth for each pannel or your gonna have a ton of dust nibs...good luck!!!!!

First picture looks like it has some orange peel? What was your prep procedures? Paint brand, clear brand? I am an Asst. Body Shop Manager at my shop I work at. If you have any questions regarding paint, I deal with Dupont.
