I'm thinking about learning how to paint my eclipse cause the paint job is compromised, how do y'all usually go about painting these? I have absolutely 0 experience

The more expensive paint is more forgiving, I can tell you that, buy the best gun that you can buy, better to have a good brand used gun than a new cheapo gun, Autozone used to sell a really good book on painting, I think that Summit racing may sell it also, I read it cover to cover more than once and highlighted things that I figured would be important to remember, you can buy some cheap paint and paint a few trash cans or 55 gallon drums for practice.

I learned to paint with junkyard body panels and a cheap Harbor Freight spray gun. I was too scared to ruin anything I owned... I'll say this much. Learning to paint with a cheap gun is very different than an expensive gun. I'd recommend starting with the expensive gun. Atomization of the paint and clear is very important. Prep work is also very important. Get some contoured sanding blocks and tack cloths.
