Let's talk 4G63 Turbo Oil Feed / Supply Locations- ALL TURBO BRANDS

All of our journal bearing turbos we recommend running off the filter housing there has been a handful of times a customer has actually had high enough oil pressure OFH to require a restrictor on any of our journal bearing turbochargers. That being said it's fairly easy to recognize and remedy and unless prolonged oil leaking through the gas control rings won't damage a turbocharger.

For the ball bearing turbos we still highly recommend feeding OFH with a restrictor because as Justin pointed out it's just so much more reliable than the head. Having high pressure and restricting it is always better than not knowing what it is and under oiling it.

So if you have an FP turbo run it OFH and restrict if necessary.

Definitely go to the filter housing if using a Kiggly HLA restrictor....they're designed to keep less oil in the head and more oil in the pan for drag racing purposes. Not sure how it would directly effect head pressure at the turbo, but I'd hate to find out the hard way.

Even more awesome! That will help save a few bucks on my end

Thanks for the info!

what are peoples thoughts in drilling into the block above the dip stick line for a better drainage than to drill in the oil pan for the return line?
