Just curious how many heat-wrap their manifolds, o2 housings, downpipe, dump tubes, intercooler pipes, water tube etc etc and post pics and details of how you did it etc.

@ dipping it in water.Right forum. Cut the BS and chatter. Stay on topic. Warnings will follow if this advice is not heeded.
Can't we use the existing 11-page thread to discus how to wrap a pipe with a fiberglass ribbon?

And there's these too, if the OP didnt search first. I dont have anything to add that isnt covered in all of these other threads, other than a BIG@ dipping it in water.

Mine!
That looks really nicehow is your under hood temps? And what brand heat wrap did you go with?
My old, old setup, Had a T3 turbo blanket on it too.
I like, is that the turbonetics manifold?
I spoke with Aniel about this about a year ago over the phone and he said they don't recommend wrapping, coating, or even putting a heatshield over their FP manifold. He said to run it like they send it and run a vented hood if you want to keep the heat out of the engine bay and make your FP manifold last.Since we are on the topic, has anyone run across any kind of info suggesting you shouldn't ceramic coat certain cast manifolds? I have an FP cast manifold and I've seen enough threads concerning them cracking after being ceramic coated, and a few that say FP themselves stopped ceramic coating as an option and doesn't recommend it. The reason I ask is that I heat wrapped my manifold and don't like how its rusting under my heat wrap. I live in a pretty damp climate and the car sits a lot during the winter, the wrap gets damp and causes pretty bad rust. so I'd rather have it coated , slap on my jmf heatshield, and not deal with rust on my manifold again.

Because it's sometimes very difficult or impossible to wrap around a single runner near the collector due to clearances associated with header and collector design.I like, how come some people wrap two of the runners together?

I would also recommend this stuff to help seal out moisture and other spilled fluids. This spray helps immensely in keeping the steel from rotting and keeping the wrap from stinking. This is also why I would recommend against soaking wrap in water before applying. That kind of defeats the purpose of keeping moisture out from underneath and within the wrap. Not to mention, I have yet to see a single manufacturer of heat wrap actually recommend soaking the wrap. Install it dry, clamp it tight, seal the Thermo-tec spray, and be done with it.
