I have a 96 eagle talon awd with every bolt on except a turbo upgrade, fuel pump, and logger.

My old man decided to take my car out. He dumps the clutch at 4k and doesn't shift until 8k. There was a pop (like backfiring). When we got back home I noticed one of my NKG plugwires popped out. What the hell happened? Will the motor be ok?
 
Stock revlimiter is at 7500, why the afc reads a bit more I can only speculate that it is either because the afc reads a small percentage high on the rpm, or because the ecu is so "busy" running the engine it might take a second before it "gets around to" cutting the engine back. I did notice the same thing before I got the higher rev limiter, but now it I seem to find the rev limiter and have the afc show a bit low (rev limiter at 8250, afc max shows 8220)

I wouldn't worry about it unless it never seems to hit the rev limiter...
