Led help

Ok I'm going to do a led project. I know mcd is brightness but don't have a reference to how bright an mcd rating actually is. I need them to be bright, very bright. I'm currently looking at 285,000 mcd. I'm kinda wanting headlight bright or at least the Audi led bright. Any help would be apprieciated. Also any help on something I need to look for in led's let me know as this is my first dealings with led's. 12v system.
